I'm Not a Flake!
Yoga was freakin' awesome. Hooked. Consider me hooked! And to think I only went because in a spontaneous good mood I enthusiastically agreed to meet my new work pal N there. Then we had the discussion about flakes in L.A. So when I was trying desperately to flake out on her on the way to said yoga all the way to Westwood, driving with E on the phone trying to figure out where I was and trying to give me directions, I was suddenly struck with the notion that no! I would not flake out! I would show up! And after class when N said, "E, you're not a flake!" I said, "I know!"
So yes. I'll be going back and doing some more yoga on a regular basis. Found a much closer studio, too, so no more Westwood, as interesting as it was over there...
I just watched Brokeback Mountain, finally. I have to liken it to a great foreign film. Same kind of feeling: subtle, sometimes slow, but packs a whollop at the end due to excellent character development. Just cried my little eyes out on the last scene.
Neighbor B has moved out, sadly. He was so sweet when I moved in - brought me a bottle of wine, put a new light bulb in over the door outside, loaned me ice trays and a phone book (although I think most of his motivation was to flirt with my best friend when she was still here.) Would come and check on me when I got in at weird hours of the night/morning. I'll miss seeing him around and having strange conversations about anything and everything...he was my introduction to L.A.; the first person I met. Good luck B.

i love yoga too. sadly i have had trouble finding time to do it...and the funds. how expensive is it in LA? glad you enjoyed it! keep it up and you'll notice that you start to feel much more stress-free and chill.
Ugh, don't even ask about the pricing. $90/mo...but for right now, since I'm new, I can start going and get 2 weeks for $25. I'll do that until I find a cheaper place to go...if that's possible!
