Under the Weather
I thought hey, new year, new blog. Even though I did end up posting an '06 entry or two on the last one.
Today I was going to toss Simon in the VW, gather many CDs, and head up to Ventura county and end up where I ended up. But no. Sickness of some sort has been creeping up the last several days and hit yesterday morning. I made it through a halfday of work and headed home. I didn't realize how much I walk every day until I had to do it sick. Anyway, much better today, but still pretty tired. Fun stuff. But it's so warm and beautiful and sunny and perfect out there...I might make it yet.
Sigh. Rob cut my hair too short. Laying on the couch last night all hazy and out of it, watching recorded Three's Company episodes (I know, I know) it occurred to me that my hair is not much different than that of Janet Wood's, only brown with blonde highlights and a little longer on top. But seriously. Thinking of going right back for a pixie and starting over. I can do pixie, done it before...wonder what Jack Tripper would think of that. (I refuse to believe that John Ritter is dead - does not compute.)
So let's see here...interesting happening on Thursday. I work with this heavily evangelical Christian at work (figures, I come all the way from uber-Christian Texas to sit in an office next door to an uber-Christian in California...) Anyway, we had lunch and she asked me what I had been writing lately, and I told her I had finished another short story and decided not to try to get the book published, and was working on a novella that I really liked but was stuck. So she asked me to describe it, which I did, and then she thought while I scarfed down my pizza, and started suggesting things...and then my mind went crazy and now I've got it. Couldn't believe she was so helpful. Thank-you Julie. Praise the Lord.
Had to throw that in.
